quality sound. Even managing the infotainment system is entertaining as one can do it in so many
different ways. There’s the obvious iDrive dial on the centre console and the touchscreen and voice
command system, but the most interesting is the gesture sensors which can understand a handful of
gesturesandchangeradiochannels,answera phonecallorincrease/decrease the volume on the go.
Sincewe’re onthetopic, let’shave aquicklookatsome
ofthefeaturesit offers.thedriver’sseatcomeswithgreat
supportandalsogetsadjustablesidebolsters,makingit
quite comfortable.You alsogetamanuallyadjustableseat
baseextensionthataddstotheconvenience.the
heads-updisplayisanotherusefultrickwhichIlike as it
steadilysuppliesusefulinformationsuchas thecurrent
speedandnavigationdirectionswithoutmehavingtoget
my eyes offtheroad. Surprisingly,thispremiumSUV
comeswithamanuallyadjustablesteeringwheel.The
driver’s instrumentconsoleisanimpressivelylarge12.3-
inchmultifunctionalscreenwithsmartanimationandthe
relevantinformation.nottoforgetthethreedifferent
drivingmodes—ecopro,comfort,andsport — each
with its specific colour scheme, graphic style, and, of

course, driving dynamics. Other useful bits include a wireless charging dock

forphonesandyoucaneven connecttwo mobilephonesto themusicsystem

to toggle betweenindividualplaylists.

passengersontherearseatsgeta-cventsanda foldingarm-restwithbuilt-in

cup-holders.the space here, in terms of the knee- and leg-room, seems more

than adequate but has limited headroom because of the sloping roofline. A

little more thigh support would be appreciated, especially during long drives,

but it does get adjustable backrest to make it a bit more comfortable. Many

drivers may grumble about poor visibility from the narrow rear windscreen but

the X4 does bring 360-degree on the table to square things off. The 525-litre

luggagespaceismore thanadequateanditalsogetsaspace-saverspare wheel

tomakelong-distancedrivesstress-free.

the 3.0-litre straight-six turbo-diesel adds some spice to these long drives.
