ust thought you’d like to
see the latest stitching
I’ve completed with help from
your stitch-tastic magazine!
I came across the ‘Furry Tales
Baby Sampler’ designed by
Lucie Heaton in issue 263,
from January 2018. The design
was of a very cute little mouse
in a hot air balloon, decorated
with a very colourful banner
and surrounded by two little
bluebirds. One of my cousins
and his wife have just had
their second baby, a little boy,
at the end of last year, and
I thought this would be the
perfect design to stitch for
them. I chose to miss out the
lettering along the banner and
add the baby’s weight in the
same cloud as the date.
Hope you all like it – and
thanks for yet another year
of happy stitching.
Claire Boston, Southport
Tina: Well done, Claire –
a baby sampler is always
something to treasure. We like
the way you added a personal
touch by adapting parts of the
design to add baby Walter’s
details. I’m sure the whole
family were thrilled to receive
such a heartfelt gift. If you
want more Furry Tales® to
stitch, you’ll find a Christmassy
design on page 9.

ere’s the Tatty Teddy design I’ve stitched from
issue 276. My friend was expecting a baby
and as soon as I saw this design I knew it was just
perfect. I already had some beautiful fabric from
Chromatic Alchemy* (the fabric is called ‘Elsa’)
that I knew would fit the design really well. I had
it framed by my little local stitching shop, Betty’s
Stitchkit in Quarry Bank, West Midlands. I’ve been
buying your magazine for years (I’ve been
a stitcher since 1994), and your magazine has
always been one of my favourites.
Ann Jones, via email
Hannah: That celestial-looking fabric is an inspired choice,
Ann. It really sets off the design. Thanks for sending us your
photo – we’re delighted that you love the magazine! Write on

ere’s a card l made for
my Dutch pen friend,
Anneke. We’ve been in touch
for over 30 years, so she’s very
special to me. The clogs design
is by Rhona Norrie from issue
265’s Design Library.
I love your magazine
and its inspirational charts.
I bought issue 277 today and
love the ‘Dreamcatcher ABC’.
Heather Byram,
Australia
Sue: The clogs are a perfect
choice, Heather. I bet Anneke
was thrilled with her card.

I

have two friends who adore penguins, so issue 276 came
in handy for Christmas gift ideas. This ABC was perfect
and I managed to complete both in about 18 hours!
Toni Holmes, Halifax
Emily: Wow, Toni, you’re a quick stitcher! There’s
something about penguins in their black ‘tuxedos’ that
makes them such a favourite at Christmas time, and this fun
alphabet designed by Jenny Barton is as cute as can be.
I’m sure your friends adored their personalised stitchy gifts
as much as you enjoyed stitching them!

IT’S AS EASY AS A-B-C!
