f all the Star Wars

games out there, there

seems to be an

abundance of them set

around the Clone Wars.

Specifically, Republic Heroes is

another tie-in to The Clone Wars

animated television series. However,

instead of an adaptation of some of

the episodes from the TV series, this

game featured a brand-new story.

Set between the first and second

seasons of the show, Anakin

Skywalker and his Padawan

apprentice Ahsoka Tano head out on a

40-mission adventure to rescue the

captured Senator Amidala and foil

Count Dooku’s plot to destroy the

Naboo star system by using a powerful

superweapon. As well as playing as

Anakin and Ahsoka, you’ll get the

chance to play as other heroes such

as Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi and

Plo Koon. You’ll also have the

opportunity to play as clone troopers.

Sections played as a Jedi are more

platformer based, while playing as a

clone trooper adopts a structure

similar to third-person shooters.

The game also

features a nice

drop-in/drop-out

co-op mode so you’ll

be able to go on an

adventure to a

galaxy far, far away

with a friend. Q

BELOW Those stupid easily

collapsible Trade Federation droids

are great lightsaber fodder.

This adaptation follows the

storyline of the movie of the

same name pretty closely,

with you alternating between

playing as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin

Skywalker. Interestingly, the game

features a ‘what if?’ scenario in the final

mission which features the battle

between Obi-Wan and Anakin.

While playing as Anakin you can

actually kill Obi-Wan and see how events

could have unfolded. In this alternative

ending, Anakin ends up meeting with the

Emperor, who replaces his Lightsaber

with a shiny red Sith one, only for him to

turn the weapon on his master, killing

him and taking his place. As in the

Obi-Wan game, players are able to face

off against each other in multiplayer. Q
