follows on from the

‘Light side’ ending of

The Force Unleashed in

which protagonist

Starkiller is killed by the evil Emperor

Darth Sidious. Starkiller, however, is

back, albeit this time as a clone. Darth

Vader, clearly obsessed, has spent a

year following the events of the

previous game trying to clone his

apprentice using his DNA.

This new cloned Starkiller is once

again trained by Vader, but he starts

to have visions and flashbacks of his

past self. After escaping Vader,

Starkiller sets out on a quest to

discover himself, meeting a bunch of

characters from the previous games

and some familiar faces from the Star

Wars films such as Yoda – a brief

encounter that’s reminiscent of Luke

Skywalker’s encounter with the

master in The Empire Strikes Back.

Starkiller eventually does break free

from Darth Vader’s influence and even

gets to have a happy ending with his

romantic interest. That is,, of course,

provided you chose the Light ending.

The Dark side ending

has Starkiller being

stabbed in the back

by a mysterious

figure who turns out

to be yet another

one of Vader’s

Starkiller clones. Q

For The Force Unleashed we

delve into some unknown

territory surrounding what

happened between the

prequel trilogy and the original trilogy.

You play as Starkiller, raised from

childhood to become Darth Vader’s

secret apprentice.

So secret, in fact, that Darth Vader hid

his existence from the Emperor. Starkiller

is sent on a mission to hunt and kill

every last living Jedi, but after being

discovered by the Emperor, he’s sent on

a path which introduces him to the Light

side of the Force, and he starts to steer

away from his evil side. Most memorable

moment? Starkiller pulling a Star

Destroyer out of the sky using only his

force powers. Pretty impressive. Q

The Force is strong in this one.
