(Antfer) #1
ABOVE Despite
his abruptly cut
training, Cal is
still extremely
proficient in
the Jedi arts.

BELOW You’ll
travel to a
number of
locations in
the Star Wars
universe.

Force push

The Force, as Obi-Wan Kenobi
explains to Luke in Episode IV, is “an
energy field created by all living
things. It surrounds us, it penetrates
us and binds the galaxy together”. It
is also what gives a Jedi his or her
power. So, aside from ancient
weapons, Cal has this “hokey
religion” on his side when facing the
Imperial enemy. He may still be
student rather than master, but the
Force is strong in this one – and he
can use his powers to slow time, and
push enemies back with telekinetic
blasts. Useful for crowd control, as
otherwise your lone lightsaber-
wielding Jedi could very quickly
become overwhelmed. Cal’s sure to
have an entire skill tree full of other
handy Jedi tricks to unlock, too.

Gerrera

Veteran Rebel Saw Gerrera had a key
role in Rogue One, and Forest
Whitaker reprises his role here. In
Rogue One, Saw leads radical Rebel
faction the Partisans, and has a
mostly mechanised body. He’s likely
to be a key NPC in Jedi: Fallen Order,
and he is still physically intact,
meaning that whatever caused him
to require his Darth Vader-style
mechanisation happened in the near
two decades between the events of
Jedi: Fallen Order and Rogue One.

Holo-map

As with all good droids in the
Star Wars universe, one of
BD-1’s most useful traits is his
compatibility with Micro SD
cards that always contain
useful information, such as
holographic maps of gigantic
planet-destroying Imperial
space stations, or a few
seconds of repeating hologram
messages featuring a
princess. We see him eagerly
project a holographic map of
the Sap Refinery for Cal and
Saw Gerrera to help them plan
their raid. We also see a digital
rendering of four planets
aboard Greez Dritus’ ship. What
else might it holographically
project from that tiny droid
face? Perhaps the 1978 Star
Wars Holiday TV Special? Look
it up, it’s mad.

I

You’ll come up against a number of
enemies in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen
Order, all of whom have a different
fighting style and will require a
slightly different approach in combat.
Bottom of the pile are your basic
Imperial troopers, the ones taking
you on at your own melee-combat
game with electrified batons. These
guys can and will block your
lightsaber attacks, but go up the
food-chain and you’ll find enemies
that can both block and then counter
your attacks. Some strikes, for
example by huge security droids, can
only be dodged with a perfect roll out
of the way. You’ll also need to be a
little tactical with some enemies,
such as the flamethrower-wielding
troops – you’ll need to work out their
reload timings if you want to get an
attack in beyond their wall of fiery
death. And there are big, ugly
monsters that Cal will face too.
