technology in our day-to-day life.
In the second series ‘La Terreta’, I
wanted to show how people live from the
land. The orange is a symbol of identity
and pride, and the pillar of Valencian
agriculture. Today there is a crisis in this
sector; I wanted the images to engage with
people about the industry’s importance. It
is so signifi cant that I won with this series,
as it is a subject close to my home.

Do you regularly enter photography
competitions?
This is the fi rst photo competition I’ve

participated in! Having been chosen
winner has encouraged me to enter other
contests, but knowing that it is always very
diffi cult to win. Winning, after all, is a
recognition and this makes you more
motivated to continue working, but the
important thing is not to lose motivation
and be proud of your work, win or not.

What have been your biggest
obstacles in your photography?
I think the lack of inspiration in some
moments. Sometimes I have in mind a
thousand projects to undertake, and other

times I do not have any! I understand that
this is normal in practically all jobs and
all arts.

What kit do you have in your bag?
I carry the Sony A7 III together with the
Sony 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 lens that the
organisers of the contest gave me for being
a fi nalist. I also carry a Sony A6500 with a
Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and a Sony 18-105mm
f/4. I also have an Olympus OM Zuiko
50mm f/1.8 (with adapter to work with
Sony), because I also have an analogue
camera, an Olympus OM-1 from when my
dad was young. I carry batteries, memory
cards, an ND fi lter and a cleaning kit. In
the future I want a 35mm and 85mm
lenses and lighting, if money allows me.

What are your photography
aspirations for the future?
I would like to dedicate myself to
documentary photography because I want
my photographs to have a social impact.
However saying this I don’t want to close
the doors to other styles, as I like all
photography and throughout my career
I’m sure I will explore what it has to off er.

What is your next project?
Right now I am undertaking a project
related to domestic workers. The project
denounces the abuses suff ered by many of
them today. It’s very interesting and one I
am motivated by because it can serve
to raise awareness.
