OVER TO YOU...
I
want to share with you this
gorgeous robin I have just
completed. This was from
issue No. 13, Dec 1993 which I
have recently acquired. I thought
you would be pleased to know
that over 25 years later your
magazines are still in use. I get
immense pleasure from all of
my cross stitch projects and each
month eagerly await the next
issue. Keep up the good work.
Barbara Earnshaw, Nott ingham
I
was so excited when I saw
this project in your May 2019
issue of CrossStitcher. As a cross
stitcher and quilter, I wanted to
create a housewarming gift for
family members.
The doll and cat together?
Perfect for their tastes and
interests! I started it in mid-
June and completed it in early
September. I took the fi nishing in
a diff erent direction as I thought
framing it would be more
versatile for their new home.
I hope you agree that it just
pops with the professional
framing I had done.

All these years...
Hello dolly!
LIZ DRAPER I’m happy with fractional
stitches, shading, and would love to see
some Assisi work but I really, really hate
black backstitching! I often change the
colour on projects, because I think black
thread makes everything look like a
cartoon drawing.
TAMMY POWELL Backstitches can be a
total pain, however they can transform a
piece! For that reason I love them!
ANE MCSHEA I like a mixture, some
whole stitch and some detailed patterns.
I have turned some detailed patterns
into whole stitches to make life easier for
myself and I love backstitch.
LISA DALY I avoid fractional stitches
no matter how much I love the design!
Defi nitely prefer whole stitches but I love
the extra detail that backstitch gives.
GRACE COLLIER My choices depend
on my reason for stitching... if I need
something quickly, whole stitches are less
troublesome. If I have time, fractionals
and backstitch add so much!
NICOLA WIGMORE I love bright and
colourful patterns using whole stitches,
my fractionals often end up looking
messy. I do like blackwork because it’s so
much quicker to fi nish but cross stitch will
always be my favourite!
SASHA COLE I love confetti stitches! I
love the colour changes and seeing the
picture come to life.
PATTI OLDHAM I love whole stitches and
don't mind fractional or backstitch. I also
prefer larger detailed designs, But I stay
away from ‘specialty stitches’ that you see
in embroidery or hardanger.
