Cutting Instructions
Patches are lettered in order of use.
Measurements include ¼ ̋ seam allow-
ances. Border strips will be pieced and
cut to exact length needed. You may
want to make them longer to allow for
piecing variations.
- Assorted prints
cut 42 matching sets of:
4 squares 5 ̋ (A) - Cream tone-on-tone
18 strips 2½ ̋ x WOF for sashes and
border 1
35 rectangles 2½ ̋ x 9½ ̋ (C)
336 squares 2½ ̋ (B) - Dark blue print
9 strips 3½ ̋ x WOF for border 2 - Dark blue tone-on-tone
9 strips 2½ ̋ x WOF for binding
Piecing the Blocks
1 Referring to Stitch-and-Flip in Quilt
Basics and to Diagram I, join
cream B’s to opposite corners of
assorted A as shown to make a unit.
Make 42 sets of 4 matching units
total.
Sew together 4 matching units as
shown in Diagram II to make a block.
Make 42 blocks total.

Assembling the Quilt Top
NOTE: Refer to Assembly Diagram for
following steps, watching block place-
ment.
2 Sew together 7 rows of 6 blocks and
5 cream C’s each.
3 Sew together 2½ ̋ cream strips and
cut to sizes shown to make
6 horizontal sashes.
4 Join rows and sashes as shown.
5 Refer to Borders in Quilt Basics. Join
border 1 strips and cut to sizes shown
in Assembly Diagram. Matching
centers and ends, sew border 1 side
strips to quilt; repeat to add top and
bottom strips. In similar manner, add
border 2.
Quilting and Finishing
6 Layer, baste, and quilt. Ramona ma-
chine quilted swirls and leaves. Bind
the quilt.
