Beginner's Guide to Crochet - UK (2019-10)

(Antfer) #1

BASIC TECHNIQUES

NOTES
Necklace is worked in multiple lengths of
chains which are secured into the jewellery
end caps.
If you don’t want to use end caps, you could
simply work several chains to the length you
desire and secure them with a slip stitch, or
twist them and sew the ends together.

NECKLACE
CHAINS (MAKE 24)
In each shade, make 6 lengths of chain
approx 90 stitches or measuring 32cm long.

TO MAKE UP
Block the chain lengths (see p131) to help
them lie flat, and let them dry.
Place the chain lengths alongside each other
and trim the ends.
Carefully apply glue inside one of the end
caps and insert all the ends of the chains at
once, using a crochet hook to push them
gently inside the cap. Slightly twist the chain
lengths and repeat process on the other end
with the second end cap. Leave to dry.
Attach 10cm (or length required) of linked
metal chain with fastening to each end cap.
