HOW TO MAKE THE SQUARE
With Yarn A, make a slipknot and place it onto
your hook. Ch6 and ss into the first ch to join
into a ring.
Round 1 Ch3 (counts as tr), 2tr into ring, ch2,
(3tr into ring, ch2) three times, ss to top of
beg ch-3, fasten off.
Round 2 Join Yarn B in any corner ch-2 sp
with a ss. Ch3 (counts as tr), (2tr, ch2, 3tr)
into same ch-2 sp, *ch2, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into
next ch-2 sp; rep from * twice, ch2, ss to top
of beg ch-3, fasten off.
Round 3 Join Yarn C in any corner ch-2 sp
with a ss. Ch3 (counts as tr), (2tr, ch2, 3tr)
into same ch-2 sp, *tr in each of next 3 tr, 2tr
in next ch-2 sp, tr in each of next 3 tr, (3tr, ch2,
3tr) into corner ch-2 sp; rep from * twice, tr in
each of next 3 tr, 2tr in next ch-2 sp, tr in each
of next 3 tr, ss to top of beg ch-3, fasten off.
Round 4 Join Yarn D in any corner ch-2 sp
with a ss. Ch3 (counts as tr), (2tr, ch2, 3tr)
into same ch-2 sp, *skip next 3 tr, 3tr into next
tr, skip next 2 tr, 3tr into next tr, skip next 3 tr,

3tr into next tr, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) into same ch-2
sp; rep from * twice, skip next 3 tr, 3tr into
next tr, skip next 2 tr, 3tr into next tr, skip next
3 tr, 3tr into next tr, ss to top of beg ch-3,
fasten off.
Round 5 Join Yarn E in any corner ch-2 sp
with a ss. Ch3 (counts as tr), (1tr, ch2, 2tr) into
same ch-2 sp, *tr in each of next 15 tr, (2tr,
ch2, 2tr) into next ch-2 sp; rep from * twice, tr
in each of next 15 tr, ss to top of beg ch-3,
fasten off.
Round 6 Join Yarn F in any corner ch-2 sp
with a ss. Ch1 (does not count as st), dc in
each stitch around, working 2dc in each
corner ch-2 sp, ss to first dc to join, fasten
off. Weave in all ends.

TO MAKE UP
Make as many squares as you like. Sew
together (using one of the methods on page
133) to make a scarf, cushion or blanket, or
string them up as bunting.
