As well as the usual black, Durene uses a few bright thread
colours for the backstitch details on this advent calendar. Dark
pink, emerald and blue are the colours she has opted for, and
these threads give a softer edge to these individual motifs,
creating a more colourful look to the whole design overall as
well as creating a pleasing finish to each motif.
