MAKING UP
FRINGING
To c re ate t h e f r i n g i n g, t a ke t h e h e l d s t s
from the right-hand side off the stitch
holder or scrap yarn and, beginning with
these previously held sts, carefully snip
each of the edge sts along the bottom edge
of the shawl. Unravel the held stitches up to
the Slipped Cable section (the stitches will
only unravel up to the beginning/end of
the cast-off sts).
Complete the fringing by knotting four
strands together to create each small tassel
that makes up the fringing, working down
t h e b ot tom e d ge of t h e r i g ht-h a n d si d e of
the shawl. Repeat with the left-hand side.
Add extra lengths of yarn A and B to the
b ot tom of t h e sh awl to f i l l i n a ny gap s i n t h e
fringing, and knot together as above.

Weave in ends and block gently to
measurements, following any yarn care
instructions on the ball band. Trim
fringing to desired length.
