PATTERN NOTES
T h e c olou r work s e c t ion s of t h i s j a c ke t a re

sides, with the patterning reversed.
For each side, the sleeve is cast on first and
worked in the round to the underarm. At
this point, a steek is cast on and the work is
continued until the centre front is reached.
Stitches for the front are then cast off and
the back of the jacket is worked back and
forth in rows until the centre back is
reached. The centre back stitches are
joined when both sides are complete.
Edgings for the sleeves and body are

TAKING CUES from Norway’s textile
traditions, Margaretha Finseth
has designed this breathtaking,
contemporary jacket. Its cropped body
and wide sleeves are knitted in a
stranded colourwork pattern of
swirling leaves, while the deep lower
border, front bands and cuffs use an
intricate cable and lace pattern.
Margaretha has lined the bands and
cuffs with velvet for a luxurious finish.
