Indeed, the entrepreneur has made no secret
of the fact that he wants to move humans to
Mars, even tweeting that he was “confident”
consumers would be able to pay less than
$500,000 for a ticket to start a new life there.
“Very dependent on volume, but I’m confident
moving to Mars will one day cost less than
$500k and maybe even below $100k,” he told a
follower in February. “Low enough that most
people in advanced economies could sell their
home on Earth and move to Mars if they want,”
he added, suggesting he planned to offer such
services in his lifetime.
