About This Quilt
Notice the strong diagonal line
Karen created with her design. The
blocks on the lower left quadrant
are simply turned 180° to create
the mirrored effect. With careful
color and block placement, you can
achieve the same look. Use a design
wall or the fl oor to ensure that the
blocks are positioned correctly.

Making the Flying Geese,
Units, and Blocks
Refer to “Fast Flying Geese” in Basic
Lessons. Use dark brown A’s and lav-
ender B’s to make 4 Flying Geese 1’s
as shown.
In the same manner, make Flying
Geese 2–8 in the colors and
quantities shown.
Refer to “Triangle-Squares” in Basic
Lessons. Pair dark brown A’s and
dark taupe A’s to make 20 unit 1’s
total.
Repeat to make 20 unit2’s using
dark taupe A’s and light taupe A’s.
In a similarmanner,usedark
blue C and lavender C to make
unit 3. Make 2 unit 3’s total.
In the same way, make units 4–6 in
the colors and quantities shown.
Sew the patches, units, and
Flying Geese together as shown to
make a block W. Make 2 block W’s
total.
