Quilting and Finishing
Layer and baste together the
backing, batting, and quilt top.
Refer to the quilting placement
diagram. Quilt intersecting mel-
ons surrounded by a circle in the
blocks. Quilt a meander in the rest
of the blocks. Quilt a serpentine
in border 1. Quilt the Fluctuating
Feathers Quilting motif in border 2.
Fold fl ange in half, wrong sides
together and press. Sew to edge of
quilt.
Bind the quilt.
Finishing Touch
Karen chose to use ornate quilting
designs to fi nish her quilt. For a simpler
option, you can quilt a motif that fi ts
within the blocks. The Amaryllis Quilting
motif is made up of different sized loops
in a fl ower shape with an echo surround-
ing it. Fit it perfectly within the star for a
