About This Quilt

Diane ran out things to work

on at a quilt retreat, so she started

making little houses from scraps.

By the time she left, she had twenty

houses made–a wonderful start for

this quilt. “I liked them enough to

make more, and then when I played

around with setting them, I discov-

ered that Quarter-Square Triangles

looked like stars if I placed them

just so. I’d like to live among the

stars, wouldn’t you?”

Making the Units and

Blocks

Refer to “Stitch-and-Flip” in Basic

Lessons. Use 1 assorted A and

2 matching B’s to make 1 unit 1 as

shown. Make 43 unit 1’s total.

In similarmanner,using

Sew patches and units together as

shown to make blocks V–X in

quantitiesindicated.

Make 5 sets of 4 matching block Y’s

total.

Sew 1 unit 2, 1 assorted L, and

2 matching K’s as shown to make
