New Year, New You

This issue hits just when many of us are thinking about what we want
to accomplish in 2020. Whether you want to start working out more,
try something new, or simply use up your stash, we chose projects that
inspire those goals.

For many quilters, the idea of turning our favorite hobby into a profi t-
able career is a dream fantasized about often. While some profession-
als may make it look easy, there is a lot to consider as you embark on
crafting a business (see what I did there?) from the ground up. We
asked professional quilters for advice, and they came through for our
feature “The Business of Quilting”. To go further, Vivika DeNegre
discusses diversifying revenue streams in this month’s “Modern
Musings”.

If you just want some fun patterns to make, never fear. The dreary days
of winter are broken up by colorful quilts within our pages—and if
using up your stash is one of your quilting goals this year, we have sev-
eral patterns that should do the trick! Diane Harris is back with Living
Among The Stars, an adorable quilt that is made up of house blocks
and Hourglass units. Happy Hearts by Stephanie Cunnyngham is a
quick and easy quilt that allows you to use as many different fabrics as
you like —or just a few! Botanical Trellis by Natalie Crabtree is the per-
fect quilt to use up those batiks you have been hoarding.

Yoga anyone? Natalie Santini shows us how to make the Zen Yoga bag
to hold your mat—you’ll be the envy of the studio!

We hope you enjoy this issue and fi nd something within our pages that
inspires you to quilt more.

Happy Quilting!
