With Starcrazy Catherine used what she calls ‘quilted trapunto’. Elements of the stars were
quilted and then padded before the quilt was sandwiched. This technique provides added
interest with its dimensional surface texture. This quilt was machine pieced and
machine quilted on a stationary machine. Couching detail was done both
by hand and machine with hand-appliquéd Suffolk puffs.
