I’ve been making patchwork quilts for more than three decades and I
have only recently come across half rectangle triangles (HRT). I’ve loved
half square triangles since I came across them years ago, and now I’m
in love with HRTs too! However, they are not quite as easy to make as
HSTs, and you need to make a mirror image of each unit to be able to
match them up. These rectangle units can be made by simply cutting two
rectangles in half diagonally and then sewing them back together. The
cut edges will be bias — and we all know how much we dislike bias edges!Block
