After a virtually clear sky all afternoon,
clouds finally came in for a short time
during sunset much to Chris’s delight!

“After meeting at the campsite
where I was staying, we headed to
Cromer Pier discussing the plan for
the afternoon and evening. The
main concern was the howling
wind, which would make long exposures
difficult. When we arrived, the tide was rising a
lot faster than expected due to the wind pushing
it in, but we eventually found a groyne that
worked for a long exposure. Heading back
down the beach, we started to use ICM to
capture images different to the norm; it was a
challenge to find the correct shutter speed, but
James helped me. After some seaside fish and
chips, we set the tripod up to capture a classic
sunset, although compositions were limited due
to the tide. I learnt a lot – thank you James and
