Barn owlets on their irst light are amazing to watch. his was taken
from Tom Robinson’s hide with a schedule 1 licence.

Opposite
In recent years a small colony of marbled white butterlies has established
near my work in the Derbyshire Dales. I visited their meadow often after work
during the light period. Unprecedented heat last summer had bleached the
grasses a distracting yellow, so I decided to make a series of monochrome
images. Using a wide aperture the yellow grasses rendered as difuse pale
greys, allowing the already beautifully graphical butterly to take centre stage.

Overleaf
A small copse of silver birch trees in Ampthill Heath on a summer morning.
Shot in infrared, it created a scene reminiscent of a fairy tale.
