Issue 48

Christmas Glitz

Agatha Christie’s Poirot, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great
Gatsby, and Art Deco styling all inspire a sense of
decadence and charm that fit in perfectly well with
Christmas time! Indulgent gold and deep blue
invoke a feeling of luxury and sophistication that
calls to mind glitzy Christmas parties and celebrations,
and what better time of year to celebrate than now?

Throughout this issue, you will see our designers are
embracing the art nouveau sensibility with their
stitch patterns and colour choices for what will make
a glamourous crochet Christmas! Get started with
the Putting on the Ritz Blanket (page 60), which is a true showstopping design, along with
the stylish Tallulah Shawl (page 14) – both use glittery yarn so effectively.

Our cover project this month in the Silver Screen Sweater (page 16) that looks splendid
dressed up for an evening on the town, or why not pair it with some smart jeans for a classy
winter’s-day look? The Gatsby Glitz Shawl (page 40) and Forest Breeze Tee (page 28) both use
a rich emerald that is oozing with class too.

For something a little more carefree, hook up your official Feathers McGraw pattern on
page 22, and gift him to the Wallace & Gromit fan in your life! Plus enjoy your new Wallace
& Gromit crochet tool set with an exclusive hook gauge, stitch marker and notions pouch
that will keep your bits and bobs tidy in your crochet bag.

The Crochet Now team and I wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with fabulous festive
goodies, luxurious food, drink and more!

Goodbye for now!
