Fringe & Fastening
Fringe is attached across front of Bag in 4
rows (2 in CC1 and 2 in CC2). Strands are
attached using Lark’s Head Knots.
Cut 256 strands, each measuring 48cm (128
strands each in CC1 and CC2).
Lay Bag down with front facing up, *miss
first st and insert hook under 2nd st (of
those visible across front of Bag) of Rnd 27.
Pull 2 strands of CC1 through a loop and
secure using a Lark’s Head Knot. Rep for
next 31 sts, leaving the final visible
st unworked**.
Rep from * to ** across sts created
in Rnd 28.
With CC2, rep from * to ** across sts
created in rnds 29 & 30.
Moving CC2 fringe aside, trim CC1 strands
into desired V shape using sharp scissors
and a sharp edge as a guide. CC1 fringe
measures approximately 11cm at shortest
point, increasing to approximately 23cm.

MEGA FRINGE

CLUTCH BAG

Trim CC2 fringe as for CC1, following
the same angle but cutting CC2 strands
approximately 2cm shorter than CC1
strands so both colours are visible.
To make tassel, wrap CC1 around
cardboard approximately 10 to 25 times,
then gently slide off cardboard. Tie a 12cm
length of CC1 around all loops at the centre,
then cut through both folded ends and
keeping tie ends at top, bring all tassel
strands to bottom. With a long strand of
CC1, begin wrapping tightly 2cm down from
fold and cont without overlapping 5cm
down from beg, or length desired. Secure
both ends. Attach tassel to front loop of Bag
with tie ends. Feed tassel through back loop
of Bag to close.

Special stitches
Lark’s Head Knot: Fold strand of yarn
in half, insert hook into fabric for knot
position, pull loop through, then pull
two remaining ends through loop, pull
to secure
