CROCHET CHRONICLES
Sarah-Jayne
L
ast month I attended Yarndale where
I got to meet so many wonderful
viewers and subscribers to my monthly
subscription box. We had a stand to
share Crochet Society with fellow yarn
lovers attending the show, and it was
such a great weekend. I’m normally in
my own little online bubble, so it’s nice
to talk to people face to face! The show
itself was a fantastic hive of activity
with a lovely community feeling, so I
was thankful to put my feet up after the
weekend away in Skipton. I’ve also been
on holiday with my family recently and it
was so refreshing and a great break from
the norm. I got to sit and crochet around
the pool, which was bliss! I love to see
everyone’s curiosity when you crochet in
public – it’s a great conversation starter,
particularly in the sunshine.
I’m only making one crochet gift this year
for Christmas. It’s a shawl for my grandma
(I hope she doesn’t read this). It’s taking a
while to complete to be honest because
I keep having to frog it back... so I hope I
get it done in time! I am determined to get
this one finished even with all the starting
again – do you ever get the bug when you
just can’t quite nail that one project but
really want to? I know she will appreciate
the work though and sometimes it’s nice
not to spread yourself too thinly with gifts.
