Create a sense of drama
I wanted to make this image
more dramatic and textured,
so I added the Dramatic Filter to enhance
local contrasts on hair, clothes and the
background. Detail Enhancer helped me
to bring back the sharpness to the face
and hands, as my heroine was slightly
blurred because of the movement.

Work smarter with
the Accent AI Filter
When working with the details,
I used the Accent AI Filter. Its smart
algorithm allows you to improve and
stabilise the whole picture. In this case,
Accent AI lifted the shadows, making
the image less rigid, but kept the impact
and purity of the shot and didn’t affect
the skin tone.

Bring out your colours
The Cross Processing Filter
applies colour to the shadows
and highlights for great results. I used
the colour preset London to add a
cinematic colour grade, and added the
Grain Filter for a filmic look. The HSL
Filter allows for work on individual
colours, and here I opted for a turquoise
hue while retaining atmospheric blues.

Add the final touches
Once I was happy with the colours and impact of the
shot, I was ready to add my pièce de résistance –
flying spark particles. Yes, Luminar can do that too! I created
a new Image Layer, added a particle texture that had a black
background, and switched the Blending Mode to Screen to hide
