in the markets that we’re in and we contact those affiliates. So, if there is
a big product launch, and it lists the top 20 affiliates for that product,
which most big launches will do, because there are affiliate prizes, we’ll
reach out on Facebook, LinkedIn, and their blog, to see if they want to
promote your product. The idea is that they promoted somebody else’s
product and probably made a bunch of money, so they can make a bunch
of money with you and your product. We call this leaderboard sniping.
We also like to do solo ads. We will pay somebody to mail their list of
20,000 to 30,000 people. If you go to WarriorForum.com, and look in the
broker section, there are people who post solo ads. “Give me $250 to
mail to my list of 10,000. You’ll get a thousand clicks.” It's pretty cheap
advertising.
Another option we will use is at SRDS.com. You can sign up for an
account for $800, and it's all the businesses that have listed customers.
You can work with those businesses to get them to mail your email out to
their list.
You can also search Google for relevant sites and asked for a mailing in
exchange for money. We call this the solo-sniper method. You just go to
Google and type {niche} + “powered by aweber.com.” Your niche, for
example, can be gardening and aweber.com is an email marketing
platform. What you're going to find is thousands of results for people
who are building a list around your category or niche. It's a great way of
finding some under-the-radar solo ads that you're able to go and market
through.
