Row 4: 1 ch, 5 dc, 2 dc in next st, *4 dc, 2

dc in next st; rep from * to last 5 sts, 5 dc.

Turn. 90 sts

Row 5: 1 ch, dc to end. Turn.

Change to B.

Rows 6-7: 1 ch, dc to end. Turn.

Change to A.

Rows 8-9: 1 ch, dc to end. Turn.

Change to B.

Row 10: 3 ch (counts as 1 htr, 1 ch here

Pompom

With A and B together, wrap yarn around

two or three fingers 80 times. Slide yarn off

fingers and tie a secure knot in the centre.

The pompom now has loops on either side

of knot. Cut all loops, trim and fluff pompom

into shape and sew onto top of hat.
