HOW TO
1 2
Double horizontal cross
stitch
Work as for horizontal cross stitch,
but working across two boxes
instead of just one (nr. 1 and 2)..
French knot
Back stitch
Pull the needle up at the top of
a box, and then back through
at the bottom, repeating
this pattern until you have
completed the border.
Horizontal cross stitch
Work half stitch from left to
right and than complete the
stitch working from right to
left, being consistent with this
pattern over the entirety of your
project (nr. 1 and 2).
Vertical cross stitch
Work the whole stitch, than
procede to work the stitch below
or over the one just done (nr. 1
and 2).
Diagonal cross stitch
Work the whole stitch, than
procede to work the stitch at the
right of the one just done (nr. 1
and 2).
How to start
Divide the fabric in quarters
with a running stitch, in order to
trace the center, then find the
center of your scheme, following
the arrows. Start to cross stich
from that point.
Begin your cross stitch
Follow the above pictures (nr. 1, 2 and 3) to create a stable anchor for your stitching.
The back
When you run out of floss, turn
your fabric and insert your needle
under the back of few stitches,
pull it through and cut the floss.
