t seems like just last week I was writing about a new and improved MaximumPC
.com. Yeah, yeah, I know: It seems like we’re always announcing new site im-
provements. But this time is diff erent. This time I can say we have completely
overhauled the website, and it’s no longer just a companion to the magazine. Maxi-
mumPC.com is now a full-fl edged destination all its own, with dozens of daily news
updates, plus exclusive, online-only how-to stories, in-depth features, and weekly
podcasts.
And, yes, Best of the Best is back—and it’s fabulous.
BOTB was never fully realized in the form it took in the magazine. In
print, we didn’t have the necessary space to provide the rationales for
our selections, and we couldn’t even run product photography. But
you’ll be pleased to know that our online BOTB fi xes both prob-
lems: We include lots of big pictures, and each entry has a write-
up, so you’ll know exactly why we chose a particular item. Even
better, we’ll be updating BOTB at least twice a month (which
just isn’t possible in the print mag). Check out Best of the Best

We’ve also hired a killer news team, led by our own
Norman Chan. Norm’s nerdhounds pretty much scour the
web 24/7 in order to post the most interesting PC-focused
news of the morning, noon, and night. Whether they’re post-
ing about a next-gen memory spec, Diablo III, or Dell’s new
ultraportable notebook, you can trust that Norm and his band
of geek-hunters and nerd-gatherers are on point with dozens of
can’t-miss posts a day.
Seriously, readers, if you appreciate what appears in Maximum
PC magazine, you’ll find the exact same attitude and depth in our daily
news updates.
But wait! There’s more. We’ve also begun posting features every day of the
week. From hands-on how-tos to comprehensive review roundups to in-depth
tech previews, there will be no shortage of new and compelling content. And

OK, enough about the new site—it’s time to jump into our 10th anniver-
sary issue, and all the Dream Machine goodness it holds within. This issue
marks a decade of publishing, and I speak for the entire Maximum PC staff
when I say we’re looking forward to another 10 years of testing PC gear on
your behalf.
Maximum PC: It’s a magazine. It’s a website. It’s a freaking ethos.
