PURL AND SLIP
Bring the yarn to the front of the work
between the needles and purl the next two
stitches. Leaving the yarn at the front, slip
these two purled stitches purlwise back onto
the left needle one at a time.

SLIP AGAIN
One at a time, slip the two stitches
purlwise back to the right needle. The yarn
is still at the back of your work. Keep the yarn
fairly loose around these two stitches so the
fabric does not pull.

STAGGER YOUR STITCHES
For this tutorial, the next right side row
has two ringlets and these are staggered
across the top of the first ringlet. Knit
to one stitch before the pair of ringlet
stitches, then repeat Steps 1-3.

HOW IT LOOKS
This image shows the three ringlets you have
created in Steps 1-5, and an example of the
full diamond pattern below.

YARN BACK
Take the yarn back between the tips
of the needles. Here you can see that
the yarn is coming in front of the two
purled stitches before being taken to the
back of the work.

FINISHED RINGLETS
Once you have purled the wrong
side row, you can see how the ringlet
looks on the right side of your
stitch pattern.

This ringlet pattern produces a great texture that can be used in many different ways.
Here it is used to make columns and a diamond pattern. If you are creating a column
of ringlets, the position of each ringlet stays the same. If you are staggering them, like
in the diamond pattern, on each subsequent right side row, the position of the ringlet
moves forwards or backwards one stitch.
