CONISTON BLUEBIRD
Handmade in the UK, the Marloe Watch Company is celebrating
the water speed records attempts of Sir Malcolm Campbell and his
son Donald. The Coniston is named after both the lake where
Campbell set his records, and Bluebird K7, his jet-powered boat
which set a record of almost 280mph back in 1964. Sadly, Campbell
was killed three years later, when Bluebird crashed on Lake
Coniston at over 300mph. Limited to 1,000 pieces, the 40mm
Coniston Bluebird has a hand-wound Miyota 8N33 mechanical
movement visible through a clear case back, is water resistant to
10 ATM, and offered with a choice of 11 different leather straps.

Built primarily to help blind people tell the time, the Eone Bradley
is also a statement timepiece for those who want something
different. The watch is named after Bradley Snyder, who lost his
sight defusing bombs in Afghanistan, but later went on to win gold
in the London and Rio Paralympic Games. The watch has two ball
bearings which are moved by magnets. A ball bearing on the face is
for minutes, and one rotating around the outside edge of the watch
is for hours; feeling the location of both tells you the time. The
quartz watch has a 40mm face and is offered with cases and faces
made of titanium, stainless steel or ceramic, and straps of steel
mesh, leather or canvas.
