DESIGN & FEATURES

An all-glass design with aluminium frame makes

this feel pretty premium, though it isn’t Gorilla

Glass (the phone comes with a case). There’s a rear

fingerprint sensor and headphone jack, plus 128GB

of storage as standard (and microSD expansion).

SCREEN

The screen is the biggest draw here. It’s a 6.3-inch,

1080x2520 panel, with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It’s taller

and thinner than the Nokia, so is easier to use

one-handed, and widescreen movies don’t fill it

with black bars. It looks excellent, too.

PERFORMANCE

A Samsung-made Exynos 9609 breezes through all

the usual tasks – for email, streaming and all the

typical phone stuff, it feels plenty powerful. The

battery should last you all day, though intensive

users may need to top up in the evening.

CAMERA

This is the best camera on a budget phone. The

12MP+16MP+5MP triple rear cam takes detailed,

vibrant pics, and has extra tricks, such as using the

117° ultra-wide lens to record 4K landscape video

while holding the phone in portrait.

DESIGN & FEATURES

This is a nice-looking device with an appealing

matt finish on the rear, though there are chunky

bezels. It goes old-school with a notification light

as well as headphone jack, plus rear fingerprint

sensor. It has 32GB of storage, with microSD.

SCREEN

The 6.3-inch, 1080x2280 pixel LCD screen does the

job, and is suitably clear and bright: it’s not that

easy to tell the difference between this and a very

high-end display, though side by side with a more

expensive phone, the disparity is noticeable.

PERFORMANCE

Nokia is part of the Android One program, so you

get clean Android with timely updates here. It

means the phone feels really snappy on its mid-

range Snapdragon 660 processor. The battery life is

fine – pretty typical for this type of handset.

CAMERA

The triple-lens 48MP+8MP+5MP camera can get

some very good shots in well lit situations, and

some satisfactory shots in low light – the results

are better than the phone’s price suggests. It has

automatic scene adjustment and HDR support.
