BUILD AMBIENCE IN
THE DINING ROOM

  • To calculate how many
    inches in diameter your
    fixture should be measure
the width of your room in
feet and multiply that by two
(so if your room is 12ˇ wide
    your fixture should be no
    less than 24ˇˇ in diameter)

  • Ensure your fixture is at
least 6ˇˇ in from the edge of
the table on each side or that
    the diameter is about one-
third the length of your table

  • When a table is 8ˇ long or less
    centre a single pendant over
    it; suspend multiple fixtures
    above larger tables

  • Hang fixtures 30ˇˇ to 36ˇˇ
    above your table so there’s
    room to see your guests

  • Follow the rules but always
    eyeball the height before you
    commit as your room’s sight
    lines can impact things

  • Install dimmer switches
