A sculptural table sets a beautiful stage and is so much more inspiring than a traditional weighty
pedestal desk. A dining table usually offers more room than a desk for creative types who tend
to be “spreaders” — we spread out our objects and samples plus the usual office supplies
needed to get the job done. To ensure there’s still storage add a vintage cabinet or chest of
drawers elsewhere in the room. The resulting arrangement will provide loads of utility while
maintaining a sense of curated individuality. Copenhagen dining table Palecek.

LULU DE KWIATKOWSKI The painter printmaker and
textile designer’s studio office might look like a riot of
pattern colour and texture (and it is) but there’s a method
to the madness. The founder of lifestyle brand Lulu DK is all
artist and it shows in her workspace. Surface after surface
is piled high with supplies used in the creation of her
fabrics. Walls are panelled below and textured above with
fabric in a way that feels both cosy and practically suitable
to the sometimes messy work of creating art. If you tend to
gravitate toward the graphic you’ll derive a few industrious
ideas from this sumptuous studio.
