A CITY DWELLER CREATES A STYLISH SHANGRI-LA
POPULATED BY CATWALK-GRADE PRINTS.
SABRINA ALBANESE got her start in
the fashion industry before launching her
interior design firm Sabrina Albanese
Design. So when it came time to buy her
first home a 774-square-foot condo in
downtown Toronto the âtextile-obsessedâ
designer saw an opportunity to infuse
the light-filled space with energetic
tropical prints from iconic fashion houses.
âI knew this was a chance to really define
where Iâm at right now.â
Sabrina purchased the unit pre-
construction which gave her plenty of
time to contemplate how sheâd make the
most of the layout. âI had to ask myself
âWhat do I really need?ââ she says. âIt was
incredibly liberating to purge things.â She
also focused on finding and designing
furniture that would be a tailor-made fit.
She paired those fashion-forward prints
with high-contrast geometric rugs and
hits of pale pink and turquoise for
a glam yet grounded look. âI call it my
paradise in the skyâ she says with a laugh.
