House & Home

(C. Jardin) #1
H&H SEPTEMBER 2016 73

LEFT: The bedroom’s blue palette is a tranquil backdrop for
the couple’s collection of plein air sketches. “We hung all our
landscape paintings in the bedroom to give the space a different
feeling” says Robert. “It’s watery serene and relaxing.” Headboard
fabric sconces Primavera; bedding Au Lit Fine Linens; wall colour
Skylight (205) Farrow & Ball; small paintings (above bed) Frank
Johnston (top left) Homer Watson (top right) Frederick Loveroff
(bottom left) Herbert S. Palmer (bottom right).
BELOW: The condo’s only TV is tucked into built-in shelves at the
foot of the bed. Robert didn’t need a huge surface area for this
desk but a swivelling nailhead armchair is generous in size and
comfortable. Stacked paintings by Peter Haworth (top) and Alan
Collier balance the height of the shelves while blue velvet drapes
add softness. Desk chair Elte.

LEFT: Expansive windows make the
principal bathroom feel extra large.
Robert gave it personality by adding
a 1930s-era tiered chandelier and a
Moroccan tabouret he bought in the
South of France. A petite tray corrals
toiletries on the window ledge. Blind
fabric Té l i o; shower curtain fabric
Kravet; towels mat Ginger’s.
