A POWDER ROOM IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO EXPERIMENT

WITH COLOUR AND PATTERN. HERE’S HOW TO BRING BIG

WOW FACTOR TO THE SMALLEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE.

Back to Black Size: 55 sq.ft.
WOW FACTOR: DRAMATIC COLOUR
In this London townhouse renovation
designer Suzy Hoodless was tasked with
creating a “Parisian apartment meets
glamorous London home” look. “We
went bold throughout so the powder
room is a condensed version of the rest of
the home” says Suzy. Taking full
advantage of the homeowners’ love of
dark hues she used a chalky black paint
on the walls and ceiling which expands
the space and lets the handmade
Moroccan tile flooring and golden
fixtures take centre stage.
THE DETAILS: Faced with tight spacing
through the door and around the toilet
Suzy chose a hidden pocket door to close
off the powder room from a vestibule.
And by mounting the sconces vertically
she was able to fit two of them bringing
more light to the dark space. Her
favourite element? “The wall-hung
marble basin is a real showpiece” she
says. Its deep trough and wall-mounted
faucet provide an extra dose of luxury
even in such a small space. Wall colour
Off-Black (57) Farrow & Ball; Carrara
marble basin Agape.

We love the se
unexpected
metal basin
supports!
