Pattern Play Size: 35 sq.ft.
WOW FACTOR: LUXURIOUS
WALLPAPER Heather opted for patterned
wallpaper to pack a punch in this tiny
windowless guest bath in an Upper East Side
New York apartment. “The scale and repeat
of the pattern are on the smaller side so it
doesn’t overwhelm the space and the silver-
leaf detailing helps reflect light” she says.
Because there’s no shower in a powder room
wallpapers don’t have to be limited to steam-
resistant vinyl designs.
THE DETAILS: The fabric of the custom-
made skirt plays off the wallpaper and
dresses up a basic sink — but also hides the
plumbing and storage. The vintage-style taps
are a nod to the apartment’s prewar era
while the three wise monkey statuettes above
the taps add a fun youthful vibe. “In a small
room details make the space feel more
interesting” says Heather. “Have fun by
creating a jewel box to really impress your
guests!” Queen of Spain wallpaper
