BEST GRAPHICS CARD
NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER
$499 (AS TESTED) EDITORS’ CHOICE Llllh
No one asked for or expected the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, but maybe we should have.
GeForce RTX cards remained prohibitively expensive for most gamers in the first half of 2019,
so, with the introduction of the Super editions, it was a welcome surprise to see the relative
cost of the cards drop while performance ticked up. The GeForce RTX 2070 Super may just be
the rough equivalent of a GeForce RTX 2080 in disguise, but at the price, you won’t find us
complaining about it.

BEST HIGH-END CPU
AMD RYZEN 9 3950X
$749 (AS TESTED) EDITORS’ CHOICE Llllh
Put simply: With the release of the Ryzen 9 3950X, AMD has upended the field of power-user
CPUs, bringing high-end desktop (HEDT) processor performance into an arguably
mainstream chip. The 16-core 3950X is an absolute scorcher, beating CPUs that debuted at
two or three times its price and not even batting an eye to do it. It’s overkill for gaming alone,
but pro and prosumer content creators (and anyone who needs a CPU for loads of rendering)
won’t find a better value on shelves today. If you do a lot of work that requires as many
threads as you can get, look no further.

BEST BUDGET CPU
AMD RYZEN 5 3400G
$149 (AS TESTED) EDITORS’ CHOICE Llllm
Not every processor has to shatter speed records to be a great value. For those who just want
a solid all-around CPU that can game a little bit off its integrated graphics, handle lighter
workloads, and not break the bank doing it, the AMD Ryzen 3400G is the perfect fit. This all-
arounder impressed us with the gaming performance showcased by its integrated Radeon RX
Vega 11 graphics silicon, as well as its ability to handle content-creation tasks better than
competing Intel equivalents in its price bracket. If you’re trying to build your next budget PC
and want a processor that will carry you through most lighter tasks with ease, the Ryzen
3400G is the one for you.
