important to those considering this laptop, it also
means it should be relatively capable at gaming, and
those tests are up next.
REAL-WORLD GAMING TESTS
The synthetic tests above are helpful for measuring
general 3D aptitude, but it’s hard to beat full retail video
games for judging gaming performance. Far Cry 5 and
Rise of the Tomb Raider are both modern AAA titles
with built-in benchmark schemes. These tests are run at
1080p on both the moderate and maximum graphics-
quality presets (Normal and Ultra for Far Cry 5;
Medium and Very High for Rise of the Tomb Raider) to
judge performance for a given laptop. Far Cry 5 is
DirectX 11-based, while Rise of the Tomb Raider can be

The new Blade Stealth acquitted itself really well in
these tests, more or less justifying the concept of adding
some entry-level graphics to a 13-inch laptop. No, it’s

potent gaming laptops, but it can handle 30fps-plus on
legitimate AAA games, which is more than playable.
Performance hounds and real enthusiasts may not be
pleased, but the person who wants to play some games
on the laptop they use for day-to-day tasks and travel
will be thrilled.
Additionally, those frame rates are for big-budget, high-

Fortnite, Apex Legends, and even Rainbow Six: Siege
are less demanding (and optimized for a wide range of
machines). The latter, for example, hit 120fps on
medium settings and 99fps on the maximum preset.
They’ll all more easily reach higher frame rates on this
system and are the types of games where higher frame
rates matter more to begin with.
