EDITOR PIP MCCORMAC SHARES
HIS FESTIVE WISH LIST

MELLOW YELLOW
A colour specialist recently told me that every room should have
something yellow in it, its mood-boosting qualities offering a visual
ray of sunshine. So with that in mind, I’m looking for subtle ways
to introduce it, and this table from gorgeous vintage homeware
brand Ceraudo could literally be the gift of joy.

CANDLESTICKS,
from £45,
Soho Home

APRICOT HARISSA PASTE,
£4.35, Belazu

COFFEE
TABLE,
£640,

WHAT A
CHEEK
Folded, this napkin
looks like it simply
has a smart,
modern design. It’s
only when your
guests open it that
they will realise it’s
a painterly study of
the human form,
printed on the most
wonderfully soft
linen. Bottoms up!

NAPKIN, £35,

HOLDING
A TORCH
Top of my list of places
to visit is the new Soho
House in Paris, opening
in 2020. In the meantime,
I’ll happily settle for these
Art Deco candlesticks
from the Soho Home
Paris collection. Smart.

OUT OF
AFRICA
New brand Hadeda
sources homewares
from South Africa and
Malawi, each piece
created using traditional
techniques. This
striking vase, made in
Cape Town at a studio
that trains locals in the
art of clay, is like a burst
of energy shaped by the
marks of its maker.

SPICE ROUTE
I’d be very happy to be
given a case load of this
new apricot harissa, an
almost failsafe choice for
anyone tricky to buy for.
It smells fruity and exotic
and, slathered over steak
or roasted vegetables, it
tastes like a far-flung holiday.

VASE, £180, Hadeda

After more than seven years, I’m off to pastures new, and taking this chance to remember all we’ve done, like the beautiful
festive shot (above) from 2014. It’s been a pleasure, thanks for having me and thanks for reading! Merry Christmas!

So long, farewell
