“A f t e r being off the bike for a few years,
I knew I had a lot of catching up to do. I’m
glad I did a course because it’s helped to
bring me up to speed much quicker and
more effectively than just doing more
riding on my own,” Cliff says.
“I also learned a lot more about my
bike’s strengths and weaknesses and how
to ride it accordingly.”
Cl if f ’s been working on his cornering
technique, and he now applies rear
braking to his everyday road riding. He
says his throttle input is much smoother
too. He’s keen to sign up for Stay Upright’s
Road Smart III course, then trying his
hand at a range of tra ck-specific courses.
“I’d actually like to go back and do it
again. I can see why people keep doing
rider training – it’s rewarding, obviously
beneficial and surprisingly addictive. I
want to keep building on what I’ve learnt.
I’ve never done a track day, so I’d love to
givethata crack!I’llbeback!”

BELOW Despite the
challenging weather,
everybody stayed
upright and went
home with plenty
of newfound and
brushed-upskills.
