nearlythreeyears.
Yvonnesayshisimpact
hasbeenhuge.“He’s
savedmillionsof dollars[worth]of
illegalcontrabandfromenteringthis
country,”shetellsus.
Thedogsin theBeagleBrigade
workuntiltheyturn9 yearsold,
whichis whentheyhaveto officially
retire. ButevenafterOfficerMurray
takesoffhisuniform,Yvonnesays
he’llalwaysbeherhero.“Officer
Murrayis trulya successstory,”
shebeams.“Hehasexcelledin
somanyways.Overcomingbeing
a homeless,neglected
andabuseddog
to becominga
trainedofficer
whonowwears
a badge.He
hasbecomea
star.We alllove
OfficerMurray!”productswithpests.In March2017,
Murraysuccessfullygraduated
theprogram.“Hisfostermom
andI attendedtheceremony,”
Yvonnesmiles.“We watchedhim
demonstrate his talents with
his handler. We
were so proud!”
After graduating,
Officer Murray
went right to work.
He reports to the
Hartsfield-Jackson
Atlanta International
Airport, where he’s
been assigned to investigate
the baggage claim area. Officer
Murray spends his days sniffing
luggage and other cargo to find any
smuggled fruits, meats and plants
that carry dangerous pests. AfterPAW PATROL
Murray was accepted into
the USDA program at age 3
and had to complete nearly
a year of training. He was
taught the skills he needed
to become a member of the
Beagle Brigade — a team of
115 rescue beagles that work
with the government to locate
harmful products illegally
brought to the airport. Murray
learned how sniff out luggage
that contained foods and otherpup defied the oddsand became an officerairport!^Yvonne describes
