Dollinger is
saving our
oceans!
He may be known for his role
on Sydney to the Max, but off
camera Jackson Dollinger is all
about making a difference as an
ocean ambassador. “As an ocean
ambassador, I’m actively using my
social media platforms to raise
awareness about the devastating
effects plastic pollution has on our
oceans,” he tells us. And Jackson
isn’t just encouraging others to
keep the ocean clean so sea
creatures can safely live in it — he’s
putting in effort, too. In September, he participated in Coastal Cleanup
Day; he also attended Ocean Heroes Bootcamp so he could learn how
to stop plastic pollution. That work has inspired him so much that he
plans to host several beach cleanups in 2020. “I love sea turtles, whales,
crabs and dolphins and knowing there is so much trash in the ocean
makes me sad,” Jackson shares. “I want to help reverse the problem
and encourage others to take action, too!”

Watch out dogs, you might not be

A new study from Oregon State
University found that even though
cats are notorious for showing less
affection than dogs, they feel love
for their owners, too. “We found
that the attachment bond cats
display toward their owners is very
similar to the bond dogs share with
their owners and even the bond
human infants display toward their
caretakers,” Kristyn Vitale from
the Human-Animal Interaction Lab
at OSU explains. “That means
they use their caregiver as a
source of comfort and security
in an unfamiliar situation and are
depending on you to feel secure
when they are stressed out.”
