multiple “bed-ins” in 1969 to protest
the Vietnam War. Here: in May at the
Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal,
where comedian Tommy Smothers
(with guitar), Timothy Leary and
others joined for a recording of “Give
Peace a Chance.” Inset: A photo of
