A GLIMPSE AT LIFE POST-BEATLES


Left: After two years of vocal opposition to the Vietnam War, John Lennon and Yoko Ono
launched their War Is Over! campaign with a song, “Happy Xmas (War Is Over),”
and billboards in New York City and 11 other major world cities and a Dec. 16, 1969,
performance at London’s Lyceum Ballroom (above). Below: George Harrison
was keeping busy as well. After meeting husband-and-wife rockers Delaney and Bonnie
Bramlett and seeing them perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall, he enlisted as an
anonymous player on the tour, credited on the ensuing LP as “Mysterioso.”
