In the Garden of Eden

Adam has been staying out late a lot

recently, and Eve is getting nervous.

“Adam, are you seeing another woman?”

she asks him.

“What other woman?” Adam replies.

“You’re the only woman on Earth!”

That night, Adam is woken by a pain in his

chest and finds Eve above him.

“What are you doing?” Adam wants to

know.

“I’m counting your ribs, of course.”

Lost at sea

A friend just

asked me, “If

you were stuck

on a desert

island, and you

could have

three records,

what would

they be?” I said,

“The long-

distance swim-

ming record

would be very

useful.”

“What’s a seven-letter word for ‘easily

seen or understood’ that starts with ‘o’?”

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“I suppose so, but I just can’t figure it out.

That’s why I’m asking you.”

“If you can’t be a good

example, then you’ll just

have to be a horrible

warning.”

Now he knows

In a flash of light, an angel appears

to a man and says, “Because you

have lived a good and honest life, I

can offer you a gift: you can be the

best-looking man in the world, you

can have immense intelligence or

you can have limitless wealth.”

After thinking about this, the man

says, “I’ll take the intelligence.”

“Intelligence is yours,” says the angel,

vanishing in another flash of light.

The angel has just disappeared, when

the man thinks, “I should have taken

the money.”
