The Collegiate Church of San Isidoro
in León, northern Spain, was a major
staging post for pilgrims on their way
to Santiago. Built in the Romanesque
style in the 11th century following the
expulsion of Muslim forces from León,
it is adorned with a wealth of late
Romanesque frescoes, such as the
figure of Christ in Majesty.
