Vince wasaretired TV Station Manager of
WOKR-TV and was extremely proud of his work
in support of the hearing-impaired college
students at RIT in 1987. WOKR in Rochester,
NY was recognized as one of the first TV
stations in theU.S.to offer Closed Caption
technology under his leadership.
Afuneral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on
Monday,November 11, 2019 at St. Theresa
Catholic Church. The family will receive friends
one hour prior to the service from 10:30 a.m.
until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held at1p.m.

Dr.Robert Hartzman died on
Thursday,October 31, 2019
from complications of heart
bypass surgery.Survived by his
wife,Marlene and son, Alex
(Elizabeth Clare), Dr.Hartzman
wasaleading force in unrelated hematopoi-
etic stem cell transplant. He received his
medical degree from the University of Wis-
consin-Madison in 1971, where he worked
with pioneers in the field of transplantation
immunology and genetics.Following his
residency at Dartmouth, Dr.Hartzman was
inducted into the Navy,where he per-
formed bone marrow transplants at the
Naval Medical Center and Naval Medical
Research Center.Heestablished theC.W.
BillYoung Marrow Donor Recruitment and
Research Program; founded the Radiation
InjuryTreatment Network; and following
his retirement, served as director of the
Navy's Bone Marrow Research Directorate.
Dr.Hartzman's work will live on through
the one million donors recruited into the
registry and the more than 8,000 trans-
plants completed during his tenure.Every
life saved isatribute to his innovative
research and dedication to service.

abrother,David Holtzman, ofVentnor,NJ;
adaughter-in-law,SarahKugelman, and two
grandchildren, Adam and Ari Jun, of Annapolis,
MD; and many nieces.Paula was born to
the late Doris and Alex Holtzman in 1948
in Philadelphia. She attended Northeast High
School in Philadelphia. She went to Penn State
University to study psychology.She and her
husband Alan married in 1969. She received
amaster’sdegree in social work from the
University of Maryland. In 1979, shortly after
the birth of son Michael, the young family
began along period of international liv-
ing—Norway,Japan,France,and Belgium. Dur-
ing this time abroad, she led programs that
provided counseling to foreign communities.
Later in life,Paula lived in northern Virginia.
Formany years,she worked asaTraveller’s
Aid volunteer at Dulles International Airport. A
major love in her final years was her two young
grandsons,with whom she enjoyed reading,
dancing, and singing.Services previously held.

Aresident of Arlington, Virginia, passed away
on November 2, 2019 inWashington, DC,atthe
age of 48, as the result of an auto accident.
Nathan becameaForeign Service Officer for
the State Department in 2000. He served
the United States with distinction in multiple
countries including Mexico,Russia, Belarus,
Vietnam, and most recently inKenya. Nathan
was beloved by colleagues for his kindness,
generosity,and infectious laughter.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Nathan grew up
in Lincoln, Nebraska, and graduated from the
University of Nebraska withaBAinPolitical
Science,and earnedaMAinPolitical Science
from the University of Illinois.
Nathan is survived by his wife of 23 years,Sara
Michael, and their son, Peter;his mother,Janie
Lane; father,Leslie Lane; stepmother,Judith
Lane; and his brother,Zachary Lane.
Nathan wasalifelong baseball enthusiast,
and steadfastly gave his allegiance to the
Washington Nationals.Afluent reader of Russ-
ian, he loved the novels of Boris Akunin. Nathan
enjoyed running and chess,and he especially
relished time playing pickup sports with his
son.
Amemorial service in Nathan’shonor will be
held at the First United Methodist Church in
Lincoln, Nebraska on Sunday,November 10 at

Frontis Burbank (Wig) Wiggins,Jr. ,retiredFor-
eign Service Officer and internationally recog-
nized Bing Crosby expert, died on October 29,
2019, at his home in Arlington, Virginia at the
age of 90. He was born in Thomasville,Georgia,
on April 7, 1929 toFrontis Burbank and Emma
Louise (King) Wiggins and grew up in Albany,
Georgia. He earnedadegree in Industrial
Engineering from GeorgiaTech andaGraduate
Commerce (MBA) degree from the University
of Birmingham, England. He then worked for
Standard Oil in Baton Rouge and in 1952, joined
the US Navy during theKoreanWar. Afterwards
he earnedaMaster of Political Science from
the University of California at Berkeley.He
entered theForeign Service in 1956 and served
for 35 years.His first posts wereKenya and
Guatemala, followed by Indonesia, where in
1960 he married an Embassy colleague,Laura
Ponnone ofFarmington, Connecticut. He later
served in Rome,Italy and as the Deputy Chief
of Mission for Malta. After heading the Board of
Examiners and serving as the Deputy Director
General his final post was asU.S.Consul to
Brisbane,Australia. He retired in 1991. He
loved music of all kinds,but his favorite by
far was Bing Crosby.Heserved for decades
as the American Representative for the Inter-
national Club Crosby.Hedeveloped enduring
friendships with Bing enthusiasts all over the
world, preserving Bing's musical legacy.Heco-
authoredabook "The Definitive Bing Crosby
Discography:From 78s to CDs" and assisted
MCA records inaseries of re-issues of Bing's
recordings,involving overadozen CDs and was
interviewed byWAMU and the VillageVoice.He
was also instrumental in HofstraUniversity's
2002 "Bing! Crosby and American Culture"
conference.Helost his wife in 2007 after 47
years of devoted partnership.Heissurvived
by his brother,James Marvin (Adele Cooke), of
Glen Eden Beach, Oregon, his daughter,Joanne
(Shelley Platt), of Richmond, and his son,Fron-
tis Burbank III, and grandson,Frontis Burbank
(Primo) IV,ofFairfax. His funeral will be at held

volunteer with the Bureau of Braille and
Talking Book Library,Division of Blind Ser-
vices,Florida Department of Education.
Sophie sold war stamps during WW II and
participated in the Cancer Aid Group.While
living in Silver Spring, MD,she wasamem-
ber of ShaareTefila Congregation. While
residing in Daytona Beach, she wasamem-
ber ofTemple Israel andTreasurer of their
Sisterhood. She wasamember of B'nai
B'rith, Hadassah and the Social Committee
at Bayshore Condominium. She was wid-
owed from both Benjamin "Bill" Kanofsky
and Leo Shreiber.She was the sister of

Hirsh. She is survived by her children, Steve,
